BIBLE LANDS EXPERIENCE TERMS ADDENDUM

Effective Date: Upon Acceptance
This Bible Lands Experience Terms Addendum (“Addendum”) supplements the Academy of the Bible Terms of Service (“TOS”) and governs participation in the Bible Lands Experience (“Experience”).
By enrolling, submitting payment, or participating in any portion of the Experience, the Participant (“Participant,” “you”) agrees to both this Addendum and the TOS.
If a conflict exists between this Addendum and the TOS, this Addendum controls for Experience-related matters.
1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF ADDENDUM
This Addendum governs:
- Payments, deposits, and cancellation terms
- Roles and responsibilities of AOB and the independent tour operator
- Participant conduct and expectations
- Liability, risk, and indemnification
- Travel insurance requirements
- Media release
- Eligibility and documentation
This Addendum applies to all preparatory meetings, communications, and onsite activities associated with the Experience.
2. ROLES AND LEGAL SEPARATION
2.1 AOB’s Role
AOB provides:
- Teaching, spiritual formation, and theological leadership
- Group guidance and hosted elements of the Experience
- Administrative coordination, communication, and support
- Non-travel program components that are part of the AOB Experience
AOB does not provide travel agency services.
2.2 Operator's Role
All travel, land services, transportation, lodging, meals, guides, and logistics are provided exclusively by an independent third-party tour operator (the “Operator”).
The Operator is the tour operator of record and is solely responsible for all travel-related services, including but not limited to transportation, accommodations, guiding services, meals, logistics, safety procedures, and on-the-ground operational decisions.
The specific Operator for each Experience will be disclosed to Participants prior to any Operator payment being required.
2.3 Legal Separation
AOB is not responsible for:
- Transportation, hotels, drivers, guides
- Delays, cancellations, itinerary changes
- Injuries, incidents, or losses arising from Operator services
- Lost luggage, foodborne illness, accidents, or property damage
All travel liabilities belong solely to the Operator.
AOB’s responsibilities are limited to the educational and hosted elements of the Experience.
3. PAYMENT STRUCTURE
The Experience requires three separate payments:
3.1 Installment 1 — AOB Experience Deposit ($1,256)
- Paid to Colby Maier Media LLC, d/b/a Academy of the Bible
- Secures Participant's spot
- Covers AOB's teaching, leadership, formation, and administrative programming
- Non-refundable under all circumstances
3.2 Installment 2 — Operator Deposit ($1,610-$1,659)
- Paid directly to the independent tour operator
- Covers land-package travel services (lodging, transportation, guides, meals, and logistics)
- Amount varies based on payment method (bank transfer vs. card processing fees)
- Refundable until March 13, 2026, then non-refundable
- Governed solely by the Operator’s Terms & Conditions
3.3 Installment 3 — AOB Experience Balance ($1,256)
- Paid to AOB
- Covers the remainder of AOB's program fee
- Refundable until March 13, 2026, then non-refundable
4. DISTINCTION BETWEEN AOB FEES AND OPERATOR FEES
Payments made to AOB:
- Do not include travel, lodging, meals, or transportation
- Cover only AOB's educational, spiritual, administrative, and hosted elements
Payments made to the Operator:
- Do not include AOB teaching or program components
These are separate, independent services.
5. ELIGIBILITY, DOCUMENTATION & REQUIREMENTS
Participants are responsible for:
- A valid passport (minimum 6-month validity)
- Visa requirements where applicable
- Any required vaccinations or health documentation
- Sufficient physical fitness to travel
- Emergency contact information
- Complying with all local laws and policies
AOB may deny participation for safety or eligibility concerns at its discretion.
6. ITINERARY MODIFICATIONS
AOB and the Operator may adjust the itinerary at any time due to:
- Safety
- Weather
- Security conditions
- Operational constraints
- Site closures or restrictions
- Local governmental requirements
Modifications do not entitle Participants to refunds.
Refunds related to travel infrastructure fall solely under the Operator’s policies.
7. MANDATORY TRAVEL INSURANCE
Each Participant must obtain and maintain comprehensive travel insurance as their primary coverage for the Experience, including but not limited to:
- Trip interruption or cancellation
- Medical treatment and hospitalization
- Emergency evacuation and repatriation
- Injury, disability, or death
- Lost or stolen baggage
AOB may require proof of such insurance prior to departure. Failure to obtain required travel insurance may result in removal from the Experience without refund.
Participant insurance is intended to respond first to any loss, injury, illness, cancellation, or disruption arising from participation in the Experience.
8. PARTICIPANT CONDUCT AND EXPECTATIONS
Participants agree to:
- Follow instructions from AOB and Operator representatives
- Behave respectfully toward leaders, group members, and locals
- Comply with local cultural norms and legal requirements
- Prioritize group safety and cooperation
- Attend all briefings and required meetings
Failure to comply may result in removal.
9. GROUNDS FOR REMOVAL FROM THE EXPERIENCE
AOB may remove a Participant at any time, without refund, for:
- Disorderly, hostile, or unsafe behavior
- Harassment, threats, or verbal abuse
- Intoxication or illicit drug use
- Violation of local law
- Repeated refusal to follow instructions
- Behavior endangering themselves or others
All resulting costs (lodging, transport, penalties, additional flights) are borne by the Participant.
10. ASSUMPTION OF RISK
10.1 Acknowledgment of Risks
Participation involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Physical injury
- Illness or foodborne sickness
- Emotional or psychological stress
- Property damage or loss
- Transportation accidents
- Natural disasters
- Terrorism or political unrest
- Uneven terrain and hazardous conditions
- Death
10.2 Voluntary Acceptance
By participating, the Participant voluntarily assumes all risks, including:
- Risks caused by Participant conduct
- Third-party actions
- Environmental factors
- Operator negligence
- Unforeseen events
10.3 Medical Responsibility
Participants affirm they are medically fit to travel and assume responsibility for any health complications.
11. RELEASE OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Participant releases and discharges:
Colby Maier Media LLC, d/b/a Academy of the Bible,
including its members, officers, directors, employees, volunteers, contractors, representatives, and affiliates,
from all claims, losses, damages, or liabilities arising from or related to the Experience, including injury, illness, disability, property damage, or death,
except for claims resulting solely from AOB’s proven gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
12. NO LIABILITY FOR OPERATOR OR THIRD PARTIES
AOB is not liable for:
- Acts or omissions of the Operator
- Hotel or transportation failures
- Guide performance
- Delays, cancellations, strikes, or closures
- Accidents, illness, or death related to third-party services
- Theft, loss, or property damage
- Travel-related hazards
The Operator is solely responsible for all travel-related services.
13. PARTICIPANT INDEMNIFICATION
Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless AOB from all claims arising from:
- Participant's conduct
- Violation of laws or rules
- Breach of this Addendum
- Actions causing injury, damage, illness, or loss to themselves or others
14. PHOTOGRAPHY & MEDIA RELEASE
Participants grant AOB permission to:
- Photograph or record them during the Experience
- Use such media for educational, marketing, and promotional purposes
- Use such media without compensation
Participants may request exclusion from close-up photos; however, group or incidental footage cannot be excluded.
15. CANCELLATION & REFUND RULES
Refund rules for Experience payments are as follows:
15.1 AOB Deposit ($1,256)
Non-refundable.
15.2 AOB Final Installment ($1,256)
Refundable until March 13, 2026; non-refundable thereafter.
15.3 Operator Deposit ($1,610-$1,659)
Refundable only under the Operator’s policies.
15.4 Chargebacks Prohibited
Chargebacks for trip-related payments violate this Agreement.
16. GOVERNING LAW
This Addendum is governed exclusively by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
17. ACCEPTANCE
By submitting payment or participating in the Experience, Participants affirm that they:
- Have read and understood this Addendum
- Agree to all risks, responsibilities, and policies
- Accept the TOS and Refund & Cancellation Policy in full
17.1 Purchases on Behalf of Other Participants
If a Participant submits payment for more than one individual, including family members or other travelers (“Additional Participants”), the paying Participant represents and warrants that they have full authority to bind each Additional Participant to this Addendum, the Terms of Service, and all related policies.
Acceptance of this Addendum through payment applies to all Additional Participants associated with that purchase. All provisions of this Addendum—including payment terms, cancellation rules, risk assumption, liability release, indemnification, conduct requirements, and insurance obligations—apply equally to each Additional Participant.
Each Additional Participant is deemed a Participant under this Addendum, whether or not payment was submitted individually.
